On Friday, April 22, The Cooper Group of Companies hosted staff members from the offices of Senator Bill Cassidy, Senator John Kennedy, Congressman Troy Carter, Congressman Garret Graves, Congresswoman Julia Letlow, and House Republican Whip Steve Scalise at Crescent Towing’s headquarters in New Orleans. The group, organized by American Waterways Operators Vice President and Louisiana State Representative Mark Wright, learned about the role the Mississippi River and the maritime industry play in foreign trade and helping to shape the global economy. Once the meeting wrapped, the group was treated to a tour of the New Orleans harbor aboard Crescent Towing’s tugboat Mardi Gras.
